American Golf Supplies Pty Ltd is a private company established in 1968 by Jim and Jean Miller.
They represented many sporting brands over the years in golf, lawn bowls and tennis.
In 1978 Reg and Lorna Rowe purchased the business and over the next few years focussed their efforts on the PING brand.
This period coincided with the global success of the PING EYE2 irons and the PING putter range.
American Golf Supplies was sold in 1996 to the current owners Paul and Kim Roser who operate the business from a purpose built warehouse in Sydney’s Southern suburbs. The company now also has an office and fitting studio in Moorabbin, Melbourne. The company continues to represent the PING Golf brand in the Australian market and this year will mark 50 years as the Australian PING distributor.
More recently American Golf Supplies took on the role of Australian distributor for the PING Apparel Brand which is designed by PING Europe. The clothing is designed for comfort and golf performance. American Golf Supplies is now the primary distributor of ECCO Golf shoes in Australia. ECCO and PING share a Nordic connection. PING founder Karsten Solheim was born in Norway and migrated to the United States when he was 2 whilst ECCO is a Danish Brand started by Karl Toosbuy Family. Both companies are still owned by families who founded the brands.
